The UC Percussion Ensemble presents an exciting lunchtime concert of works for percussion. No less than six triangles will be struck, muted, and thrown into the air for Drew Warden鈥檚 Escape; six small antique cymbals (crotales) will be struck and dipped in and out of water in Juri Seo鈥檚 Shui; six hands will navigate complex Balinese rhythms on one marimba in Bill Alves' Gandrung; performers will surround the audience to perform a Rolling Meditation by Pauline Oliveros; the ensemble will present a version of Andy Akiho鈥檚 Karakurenai; and additional rousing works by Owen Clayton Wilson and Mark Applebaum round out the concert.
